Snow causes travel chaos across Britain
Up and down the country the wintry weather has caused travel disruption, leaving trains delayed, roads treacherous, airports closed and even bridges impassable.

Gatwick and Edinburgh airports have remained closed throughout the day, while more than a third of all rail services have suffered delays or cancellations.
There were also severe delays for motorists as black ice took hold of roads across Britain. Police in Kent, Surrey and Nottinghamshire are urging drivers to avoid travelling if possible.
